As we have undertaken recently an extensive statistical survey we have some interesting figures to compare as regards the share of East and West European agricultural and financial co-operatives.

East and Central European agriculture is much better represented in ICA than the financial sector. Another conclusion is that the percentage of East European agricultural co-operatives is more significant in terms of number of societies (close to 50%) than in terms of individual membership (18%). While the number of employees in East European agricultural co-ops reaches almost 40%, in the financial co-ops it does not even attain 9%.
