Nationwide

An example of how rapidly cooperatives are growing in the US is Nationwide Insurance. It is our nation's largest cooperative organization and is the 5th largest insurance company in the U.S. In its first 70 years, Nationwide accumulated $50 billion dollars in assets on behalf of their members and policyholders. Between 1996 and 1998, Nationwide doubled its assets to $100 billion and in just the past year, Nationwide´s assets grew to $200 billion.
